The Power of School TiplineThroughout the nation, there are children of all ages that are victims of senseless bullying. Whether it takes place inside the walls of a school classroom or on the pages of social media websites, the effects of bullying can be emotionally and physically damaging to these children. It is a problem that needs to stop, which is why School Tipline is striving to prevent bullying in any way that we can. Schools are supposed to be a place where our children can feel safe as they learn, make new friends, and develop into contributing members of society. Unfortunately, bullying can turn a school into a place where a child may dread to go; a place of fear, anxiety, and depression. School bullying can happen through a number of different ways, from teasing and insults to stalking and physical violence. The best bullying solution is to report these incidents when they first begin, before they become a severely dangerous problem. Because parents and teachers often aren’t aware of what might be going on, students are the first line of defense against bullying, although they often might feel too timid to report it. By using School Tipline, students can anonymously report bullying and other incidents via text messaging >and administrators can talk back, opening bridges of two-way communication. This simple reporting system is an essential addition to a school safety program. In recent years, the act of cyberbullying has become more widespread in our society. Teens place a heavy emphasis on maintaining their online profile on social media sites and any attack through these mediums can reflect on their own self-image. Because their fellow classmates are also wired into these networks, they can use School Tipline to report these types of bullying when they see it. Parents, teachers, and other administrators can then take action and find positive solutions to stop online bullying as well. They can also use anti-bullying articles and websites that can help transform the Internet into a positive social environment, rather than a virtual world of hate, taunting, and harassment. When it is used alongside a concerted group effort to prevent bullying in your community, School Tipline becomes an invaluable tool. Students have found that it is an easy way to help their friends and classmates without the need to be scared about reporting to a teacher directly. It has been proven to improve school safety and may even be able to save someone’s life. What Next? ——————————————————————————————————————————————– |
